My suggestion is plant in good quality soil, good pH, water regularly and dont spray at all. In my garden the first couple leaves low down will show some black spot and yellowing. Later the glossy green leaves will show a few pin pricks of black and no yellowing. My New Dawn is planted on a chain link fence and is covered over with foliage from junk maples and weeds. Still the leaves are disease free. It has had the tendency to die back to within a foot of the ground the last 2 years but I believe that to be caused by the last two bad winters. strong fragrance, shade tolerant, continuous blooming if regularly fed and disbuded, 1930

#67 'Zepherine Drouhin' Bourbon Rose 1868 recurrent_pink_1/1_India zone 6 or hardy to 10 below 0. Smooth stems. As this is on its own roots it can be treated as a herbaceous perennial in climates where it dies back to the ground. It has shown itself capable of producing 6 feet of growth this year after being killed back to the snow line (8/23/03). Plants being grown from cuttings show only slight manifestations of mildew and blackspot with most foliage being disease free (6/30/03). Hybrids are: LYKKEFUND, 1868-P
