Crop 071 (pictures of) 'Crispa' Spiraea Zones 3 thru 8, 3 feet x 4 feet, pink flowers bloom for several weeks in late May, foliage is frilled and variegated. Each year I plant lilacs in 3 gallon pots, at least 50 of each variety. We paint on the side of the pot; an abreviation of the variety name, the year it was first planted and a 3 digit crop number (and we turn all the pots so that its easy to read the side of the pot in pictures). I start a new web page for that crop number alone and insert into that page unrelated pictures from around the flowering shrub farm. After the crop is started we overwrite each picture with a picture of the variety growing in the field. When growingcrop071.jpg shows lilacs flowering in the field it will be at the following plant sale (so if you see it flowering in May of 2009 we will have it at the plant sale by May of 2010). When its shown flowering at the plant sale you can discover inventory information by clicking the sign (It will have a green dot on the sign with the quantity available written on it, if there is no green dot then there aren't any for sale yet).
