My Mothers Rhododendron garden takes care of itself. We do water sometimes when its unusually dry watching for the leaf rolling in summer that can be attributed to either root rot or dessication also seen in winter. We dont weed, just cut plants we dont want to the ground so their in the shade of those we do.
