Old Garden Roses are Rosa alba, Rosa centifolia, Rosa damascena, Rosa gallica or Alba, Centifolia, Damask and Gallica Roses that were introduced roughly before the American Civil War (specificly before the introduction of the Hybrid tea). A collection of pictures and availability information is linked to the underlined blue link. These are the iron clad few from my perspective. Easy to grow, most of them bloom for several weeks in June sometimes followed by fruit. Very fragrant, winter hardy and disease free (and I wont carry them if they aren't photogenic). Though their bloom often seems short they usually compensate by producing hundreds of flowers at the same time. My hand shows how large the flowers are in relation to each other. No particular order, you should look at all of them.
