Pinkster Azalea or Pinxster Azalea or Pinxterbloom Azalea, Rhododendron nudiflorum or Rhododendron periclymenoides, zone 4, 6'x6', pink Species Azalea (referred to as R. periclymanoides or R. nudiflorum) Native of northeastern US, 6 feet by 6 feet, pink flowers in spring, deciduous. Plants available are noted on a green dot in the upper right hand corner of the sign as of the date on a pink label attached to the sign. The other picture may show a plant, group of plants or the flower). If the green dot has faded check back after the fall or spring inventory. If this picture doesn't open click here. Pinxterbloom Azalea (seedlings), in Faferd potting mix with between 60% and 80% well rotted pine bark, fertilized in spring with Espoma Holly Tone, watered with Rain water, in the shade of deciduous trees during winter with pots mulched (also grown in volcanoes of Faferd soil inserted in a planting box filled with pine bark). Not forced to grow faster by overfertilizing which burns their leaves. This picture should be overwritten (note the date on the sign in the picture) several times during the growing season. Each 7 gallon pot is $30 but cant be sent mail order (click picture for a larger image). I usually purchase 200 Rhododendron periclymenoides seedlings in spring each year.
